Workshops with Spirit in Canada

Are you ready to connect with the beauty of Indigenous teachings and express your spirituality through art? Join us for a unique workshop where you’ll create your very own "Spirit Compass" sign, inspired by sacred colours and traditional Native teachings. This is more than just a craft project—it’s a journey into the heart of Indigenous spirituality and the power of colour as medicine.

In this workshop, you’ll learn about the significance of the four sacred colours—yellow, red, black, and white—and how they represent the four directions, the stages of life, and the connection to the Creator. You’ll work with wood, paint, and brushes to craft a meaningful sign that reflects your personal journey and spiritual growth. The cost is $100 CDN per person, and all materials are included.

The workshops are held in the evenings from 6 PM until we’re done, or on Saturdays starting at 9 AM. Our main location is Paintbox Studio in Burnstown, but we’re happy to accommodate groups at other locations if needed. Whether you’re joining as an individual or with friends, this is a space for everyone to share in the beauty of these teachings.

This is just the beginning! Beyond the Spirit Compass, we’re excited to offer more workshops in the future. Imagine creating your own Personal Totems, Birch Bark Medicine Scrolls, Prayer Staffs, or Medicine Shields. Each workshop is designed to help you deepen your connection to nature, art, and spirituality.

The colours used in these teachings hold deep meaning. Yellow represents the east and the light of wisdom, red symbolizes the south and the fire of life, black stands for the west and the power of introspection, and white signifies the north and the purity of spirit. Together, these colours remind us of our interconnectedness and the balance we strive for in life.

This workshop is about more than just creating something beautiful—it’s about using art as a way to heal and connect. Colour is a powerful form of medicine, and by working with it, you’ll find a deeper sense of peace and understanding.

If you’re curious about Indigenous teachings or simply looking for a meaningful way to express yourself, this is the perfect opportunity. We welcome everyone with an open heart and mind.
