Experiencing DNOTS After Meeting Your Twin Flame?

I met my twin flame about a year ago, and the connection was immediate, intense, everything you hear about. We split around three months back, and ever since, there’s been this heavy sadness that lingers, but it doesn’t feel like mine alone. It’s like I’m picking up on something deeper, maybe what they’re going through.

I’ve read about the Dark Night of the Soul and how it’s supposed to happen before you meet your twin, a clearing out of the old. But I never had that before we met. Now I wonder, can one twin go through it after the meeting instead? Does it need to happen to both of us for healing to take hold, or can just one of us work through it and change things between us?

Has anyone else experienced something like this, where the sadness feels shared and the timing of DNOTS gets all mixed up after meeting your twin?

I completely understand where you're at, and it’s so valid to feel lost or shaken after meeting your twin flame. That rush of recognition can be intense, and it's easy to get overwhelmed by the idea of them, wondering how to “fix” things or when you’ll reunite. What I’ve been slowly learning is the real work lies deeper inside me, not in waiting for someone else to complete me.

Lately I’ve felt this tug between my heart and my head so strongly that it’s like they’re speaking different languages. I’d spend so much mental energy grasping for answers outside, only to notice a dull ache or an old sadness bubbling up from places I never truly visited. A friend compared this to shadow play, like thinking those shadows on the wall are what's real when really, I need to look at who I am at the center, examining every uncomfortable feeling in order to sit with it.

How I de-escalate this pattern is by confronting those heavy emotions inside without judgment, tracing each wave of sadness, fear, or even clarity back to sources in my own journey, not just from circumstances with my TF.

Progress feels easier when I loosen the grip on emotional highs and lows. Letting both happy and tough sensations pass through takes strength but not fighting pain helps me find a quieter stability for self-understanding first. We keep looking within because that sense of internal harmony is authentic to us, calming everything in between.

I wasn’t expecting to meet that person when I did. It was the worst day of my life, standing there losing someone who had been my anchor for 27 years—a platonic soulmate whose presence I thought would outlive any storm. But right there, in the ruins of that loss, their eyes found mine across the room. It felt wrong and impossible to feel anything else that moment, and yet my soul seemed to take notice before my mind could catch up.

Now, things get strange when I need them most. We go months without a word, sometimes longer, and often it seems like there should be some distance. But every time some huge shift hits me emotionally or something in my life is being stripped away to nothing, their energy wraps around me. I’ll see a post in that shared space we first found, and somehow they will reappear in an almost unseen way indicating they had no idea they would find me where I was bearing great heaviness.

A lot of cleansing is happening on my side—transformations bringing up frustration, healing unraveling how I see myself again and again. While I am evidently erupting layers of chiseled beliefs about my existence, someone has apparently seen this unfixable torment as their indication to understand self-medicate with many things covered and few intentions from here seem ignored as easier not here. Quite relatable to break across that I have found writing beautiful now releasing just sit idle getting run into this creative force gradually soothing weight become different thus

I hope anyone working through like calls alone—my soul cries silently is learned clearing bitter sounds share ground with hope warm thinkers its solace anywhere both two ends twisted creation world story linger harmony inside perhaps it feels feel ourselves nearer later reach phase known those mysterious fabric woven source interlaces pull steps when most needs.

I thank circle presence I wish peace no solitary tread trying break blind eye brightening keeps me in expectation unknown now leaving kindly will breathe set mercy sharing openness comfort keep parts letting realize chain hold gold roots elsewhere may heal we earth before space did sign—

Recently I’ve been finding myself in these really happy moments. Not forced, just random pockets of genuine joy that come out of nowhere on an otherwise low-key day. I don’t think I’m trying to feel happy ─ it just sorta sneaks up, without any weird trigger or longing attached to it.✧ But then it can shift just as fast. An hour later some little wave of weight lands and stays with me for a while‑until I almost laugh at myself wondering where did that sadness come from? It feels bizarre, cause usually I look for reasons.

And that phrasing people use during dark nexus times ─ DNOTS ─ pops in my head. Something real changing inside maybe ; other times doubtful, but quiet lingering curiosity spurs me : if unfamiliar bond forms between some individuals specially down hard deep stretch re‑aware & clean… some heavier feeling must fall safely w/no easy reason⌄.

Sort makes heart fully *leaving known ground╱older shields&foggs -- possibly? Idk hoping mix sign works out somehow… giving story out here får courage – anyone else✥ ?

Lately I’ve been incredibly sensitive to everyone’s energy around me. I’ll suddenly feel heaviness or sadness that isn’t mine, and it catches me off guard. The other night, I picked up on a stranger’s deep frustration across a café, and almost used it spiritually as guidance! It’s both a gift and something I’m still learning to hold without absorbing the heaviness too deeply—giving myself and them compassion in the same gentle breath, remaining softly connected as I work inward.
