A look at Afterlife

I ask the question what is the soul??
Does our (soul- essence- consciousness) continue after we pass on??
As religious, cultural and scientific data strongly suggests that the "" soul""does live on, I ask "what actually happens when we die??"
One Person, of authority, who may provide some insights is Eben Alexander. A trained and practiced neurosurgeon who has has had personal journey into the afterlife.

Hey, what if our souls keep evolving in the afterlife? Have you ever sensed a connection with someone who's passed on? Share your story!

I have many experiences from people who have passed on from direct face to face, indirect through feeling presence feeling their movement and through meditation

I am sure we are eternal in some way . I am certain our physical reality is not the one and final one. My avatar is a close approximation of "my soul" seen during meditation. I saw my dogs soul the same way but smaller.
I believe that on shedding our physical, we enter other "realities or realms". which we choose to enter or perhaps there is a preordained path for each one of us??

One thing I have found is that people with after life experiences seem to differ in the presentation.
Some see human forms coming to greet them, other like me, see orbs.
I wonder how many other ways the after life is presented or seen as?

Consciousness is present in all life, now we have scientific researchers hint how the psychic realm works. Consciousness seems to be outside the body as much as it is inside,
Would these theories by noted scientists, not open the door to how the metaphysical realm works???
Sorry Atheists your beloved science is leaving you behind.

Perhaps consciousness is an emergent property of the brain, vanishing at death like a flame extinguished. Near-death experiences could stem from neural surges, not spiritual realms, urging us to cherish this life fully.

you could well be right, although there are millions of Buddhists and older cultures that would disagree.
consciousness and soul seem to be synonymous by most accepted encyclopedias

@Vocaloldfart The afterlife manifests uniquely, shaped by each soul's vibration and lessons—some as orbs of pure light, others as familiar forms—to gently guide evolution across chosen realms, revealing infinite paths of divine expression.

What is divine expression?
I am unable to comprehend or understand the concept of a deity or god
Gods differ with each culture.which one is the divine?
How does this deity convey paths of divine expression?
