Recommendations for Tai Chi DVDs or Videos

Hi everyone,

I used to attend a Taoist Tai Chi class and really enjoyed it, but I didn’t keep up with the practice at home. Now I’m interested in getting back into it, but attending a class isn’t feasible for me right now. I think watching a DVD or video would be a good way to resume.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Tai Chi DVD or video? I’m in Canada, so something available here would be great. Thanks for any suggestions!

If you're looking for a great Tai Chi DVD, I highly recommend Dr. Paul Lam's "Tai Chi for Arthritis"! It's a fantastic two-disc set that's really well produced. Plus, you can even check out some of his classes on YouTube beforehand—there's a 45-minute class you can try for free. I own the DVD myself, and I think it's excellent. Dr. Lam is super knowledgeable and makes learning Tai Chi a breeze. Definitely worth checking out!

Hello, Raven Poet. I practice Spring Forest Qigong, and I've found it incredibly beneficial. There are numerous Spring Forest videos available on YouTube, and you can even purchase their DVDs for more in-depth learning. The Qigong master also offers insightful talks every Tuesday, which you can register for to gain deeper knowledge and connect with the community of practitioners. It's a wonderful way to explore mindfulness and healing together.

I've come across numerous tai chi videos on YouTube. Many of them are quite straightforward, yet they offer great benefits. Practicing tai chi seems to aid in enhancing one's sense of calmness and mental balance. Although I'm not entirely certain about the precise definition of equanimity, I believe it refers to a state of balance and serenity. It's fascinating how this ancient practice can foster such peace and stability within oneself, making it a worthwhile pursuit for anyone seeking harmony and tranquility in their daily lives. Exploring these online resources might be a good start for anyone interested in this gentle art form.

I really enjoy the DVD titled "Tai Chi: Stillness Through Motion." It features the short Yang form gracefully demonstrated by Master Chao Pang. Practicing this routine has brought me a great sense of tranquility and balance. Every time I follow along with the movements, I feel a deep connection to both mind and body. This DVD serves as a wonderful resource for anyone looking to explore the benefits of Tai Chi, and its calming influence is undeniable.
