Hearing voices before sleep: seeking insights and experiences

Hey folks! So, I wanted to share something that's been a part of my nightly routine for as long as I can remember. Right before I drift off to dreamland, I start hearing what seems like a symphony of voices and sometimes even music. It's one of those quirky experiences I've always wondered about. Maybe some of you can relate or have thoughts on it!

Honestly, there's plenty of explanations floating around for this kind of thing, and I've explored quite a few. Some say it might be ghosts or spirits trying to chat with us. Others throw in ideas about inter-dimensional beings, which sounds kind of sci-fi but intriguing! Then there are whispers about demons or even guides helping us through life. But after all these brain stretches, I'm left kinda confused—anyone else feeling me on this?

Here's the kicker: despite the chaos of voices (it's like everyone decided to talk at once), it's never felt spooky or threatening. It’s more like background chatter while I'm trying to get comfy and fall asleep. Imagine you're in a bustling café with a hundred conversations overlapping—that’s sort of what it feels like. Just super distracting when you're trying to count sheep!

Speaking of strange situations, something odd happened not too long ago that got me thinking even more about these nighttime serenades. Around 2 AM, as I was about to doze off, I swear I heard a woman singing a lullaby in my house. Now picture this: it's pitch dark, the house is quiet except for her soft singing—sorta freaky right? Thinking it might be one of my parents up late, I check around only to find them sound asleep and perfectly alright.

This got me wondering if there's more behind these late-night concerts than just my imagination playing tricks on me. So here I am sharing my story with all you wonderful people—I’d love to hear if any of you have experienced something similar! Have you ever tried chatting with these voices? Got any theories about what's going on?

I’m really curious if there's some kind of connection between everyone's stories or maybe some hidden message we're all supposed to figure out together. So feel free to share your thoughts or any wise words you've picked up on the way! 😊

Indeed, the clinical term for this phenomenon is hypnagogia.

My own experience with this began following meditation practices, strongly suggesting a spiritual connection. If we embrace the idea that spirituality permeates all aspects of life, there is little reason to distinguish between hallucinations and spiritual phenomena. Meditation has opened my mind to the possibility that these experiences are not merely random occurrences but potential manifestations of deeper spiritual insights or energies. Over time, I've noticed subtle changes in perception and thought, as though I'm tapping into a broader cosmic conversation.

I’ve had some interesting experiences with hearing voices or sounds before I fall asleep! It’s something I’ve noticed since childhood. Back then, I could see and hear people talking right before drifting off, which was pretty magical. But as I grew older, that ability faded away.

One of the most memorable nights was when a lovely spirit lady sang lullabies in our home for about three hours while my daughter was a baby. Her voice was beautiful! The only tricky part? I could never quite figure out where it was coming from! Friends have told me that this spirit might be an evolved soul, which sounds intriguing, but honestly, I don’t know how to chat with her.

And then there’s the time when a child spirit dropped by to sing to my son. That encounter had its spooky moments for me—especially since I had a headache that night and ended up ignoring him. But it was like he just wanted to share his song!

In 2025 and 2024, things got even wilder. I often heard muffled sounds of partying and loud music at night that made it hard to sleep. My son put it down to his spirit protectors making some noise. Who would’ve thought spirits could be so lively, right?

Recently, I’ve been hearing soft humming and bells while meditating or trying to sleep—mostly in my right ear! It’s kind of soothing instead of frightening, which is nice because these experiences feel more like love songs than anything else.

Even though I crave some way to communicate with these spirits—I mean, how cool would that be?—I’m still figuring things out on that front. For now, I'm just enjoying the melodies they bring into my life! How about you? Have you ever experienced anything like this?

I've found that engaging voices through imagined dialogues in your mind is the most effective method of communication. By initiating a mental conversation, you draw their focus and open up a channel for understanding their perspectives and sentiments. This approach helps in deciphering their messages and can lead to meaningful insights about oneself.

Question: Have you ever felt like you're having a conversation with yourself in your mind right before drifting off to sleep? It’s been suggested to me that these moments might actually be interactions with my spirit guides. I'm still unsure what to believe. Sometimes it feels comforting, as if there is some guidance, but other times I wonder if it's simply my thoughts echoing back at me. Has anyone else experienced something similar or gained clarity on this matter?
